Dave has over 20 years of experience transitioning advanced technology from academic research labs into successful businesses. His experience includes genome research, pharmaceutical development, health insurance, computer vision, sports analytics, speech recognition, transportation logistics, operations research, real time collaboration, robotics, and financial markets.
Dave is a cofounder and the Chief Technology Officer at ClosedLoop.ai. He founded ClosedLoop in 2017 with Andrew Eye to build a healthcare specific data science and machine learning platform. ClosedLoop was selected the winner in the AI Health Outcomes Challenge, a $1.6 million X-prize style competition sponsored by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and was selected as a Top Performer in Healthcare-focused AI in 2020.
Prior to founding ClosedLoop, Dave had been involved in several successful startups as well as consulting and advising both small and large organizations on how to innovate using technology with maximum impact. As part of the Human Genome Project, he was responsible for mapping all known biology onto the newly assembled genome sequences. At Bluefin Labs, acquired by Twitter in 2014, he helped the founders recruit a team and go from concept to a launch with the NFL in 13 weeks. At GNS Healthcare, he led the development of their first in class causal machine learning platform. Dave graduated from MIT with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and currently lives in Austin, TX.

Dr. Chun-Kit Ngan is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Data Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Before joining WPI, he was an Assistant Professor at Penn State University-Great Valley (PSU-GV). His research interests are Decision Guidance and Support Systems (DGSS) to guide domain-specific decision makers to make better decisions and provide them with actionable recommendations. Dr. James Pang is currently an Associate Professor at the NUS Business School at National University of Singapore. He is also the Co-Director of NUS Business Analytics Center and oversee the centre operations and industry collaboration. His research focuses on Business Analytics, BlockChain, modelling methodology and algorithm development. He has rich multi-industry experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance, Healthcare, and Retail sectors, and has been working in analytics and optimization areas in the last 15 years. Prior to the current role, he was the Client Technical Advisor (Chief Architect) in Analytics and Optimization at IBM, and led the IBM technical solution design in ASEAN Public Sector. Juan Sequeda is the Principal Scientist at data.world. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin. Juan’s goal is to reliably create knowledge from inscrutable data. His research and industry work has been on designing and building Knowledge Graph for enterprise data integration. Juan has researched and developed technology on semantic data virtualization, graph data modeling, schema mapping and data integration methodologies. Jesper Vang, PhD

Jesper has over a decade of experience in data science-related roles and biotechnology.
He is currently associated with ICOPE – a childhood cancer research project that involves several partners from the Technical University of Denmark, University Hospital Rigshospitalet and Lund University Sweden. ICOPE integrates germline and tumour genetics, biomarker profiling, pharmacology, and extended data acquisition to parents of childhood cancer patients.
His research interest is applying Machine Learning and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) to understand and describe the pharmacogenetic alterations in childhood cancer patients. With 15% of all patients having some form of pharmacogenetic interaction, he is currently striving to develop risk assessment models for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia therapy that predict drug response and toxicities by integrating genetic dispositions and biological data sources. He believes healthcare systems can be further boosted efficiently with GNNs by providing recommendations to support physicians.
